You got an email from a coworker, saying “I found an error in your part of the project. Please call me.” Their words seemed neutral enough, but you found yourself on the verge of tears, flooded with shame and certain that they think you’re incompetent. Was it painful just to read that paragraph, remembering experiences like that? You might experience Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. Many neurodiverse folks (especially those with ADHD), as well as people with a variety of mood and personality disorders, live with the pain of RSD. It’s marked by an emotional inability to handle rejection, real or assumed, and intense embarrassment, shame, pain that can even include physical pain, and discomfort in the face of others’ disapproval or silence. It can make emotional regulation difficult and secure relationships challenging to form. Join licensed therapist and neurodiversity specialist Reese Hebrank for a virtual workshop that explores the landscape of RSD and helps you develop the tools to manage it. For clinicians, it’s a deep dive that will help you understand your clients’ experience. We’ll cover: <ul><li>What, exactly, Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria is, and who experiences it</li><li>Understanding how it affects individuals and their relationships</li><li>Tools for self-care and self-regulation if you experience RSD</li><li>Tools for caring for others and co-regulation if you love someone who experiences RSD</li></ul> We’ll have time at the end of the workshop for Q&amp;A and discussion, and there will be methods for asking questions anonymously. You don’t have to suffer in shame and silence– join us for community, support, and the tools to help ease your heart. This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 1 CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification. Please select the CEU option at registration if you are eligible and wish to receive the certificate. You MUST attend the live session and confirm your attendance in the session to complete the requirements. Workshops offered by non-AASECT affiliated educators have been supervised and reviewed by an AASECT-certified supervisor. Completion of this program does not ensure or guarantee AASECT certification. He received his MSW from the University of Southern California and previously worked in public mental health care, as well as doing mobile crisis and emergency care.
