Heather Houston is a Santa Cruz-based song leader, choral director, recording artist, and vocal empowerment coach with over 30 years of experience in uplifting hearts and building community through the power of song. Founder of the Yala Lati Women’s Choir and creator of the Sisters in Harmony Retreats, Heather leads transformative singing experiences both in person and online, including at venues like Esalen, Sivananda Bahamas, and 1440 Multiversity. Her music, rooted in themes of healing, unity, and connection with nature, is sung by communities worldwide and can be found in her online song library and on all major streaming platforms.

<h3>Dear Community,</h3> We are thrilled to be gathering with you for our Autumn Concerts the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving!Delight in the magic of voices rising in harmony to heal our hearts and uplift the world! You can expect lots of audience participation. We'll be singing TO you and WITH you.Our repertoire this session includes songs in Arabic, Hebrew, Bulgarian, Spanish, Tamil, Yoruba and English, featuring songs by Heather Houston, Artemisia, Batya Levine, Ahlay Blakely, Nicole Brooks, KJ Song, Tamar Chanté, Såge, Chris Martin, Beautiful Chorus &amp; Penny Stone.CSL will be all aglow with candles and altars and twinkly lights!Refreshments: Tea, coffee and light snacks provided. Dear Community, It has been brought to our attention that the venue where we will be hosting our fall concerts has tested positive for mold. Before the alarm bells go on full alert, allow us to share a few more details about this with you and our measures to ensure your health and comfort.&nbsp; The kind of mold that tested positive is aspergillus. It is not the “black mold,” or stachybotrys, that so many are concerned about. From what we understand, this type of mold may cause agitation to those who have respiratory sensitivities through prolonged exposure.&nbsp; The mold spores are carried into the space through the heating / cooling system - which we will not be using.&nbsp; CSL has closed the building for CSL functions, but we have been given the green light to hold our concerts this weekend if we so choose, and we are choosing to do just that. All of the Latis feel completely safe being in, and singing in the space. We leave it up to each individual ticket holder to choose for themselves whether or not they would like to join us in person.&nbsp; If you don’t feel comfortable joining us in person, then you are welcome to join us on Zoom, as we will be streaming the concert there. I will paste the Zoom link below.&nbsp; Measures we are taking: <ul><li>We will have the heating system turned off and replaced with the use of space heaters.&nbsp;</li></ul> <ul><li>We will have air purifiers set up throughout the venue, and windows open.</li></ul> <ul><li>Masks will be available at the entrance for any who may desire to wear one - please bring your own if it feels easy.</li></ul> <ul><li>If you feel concerned about attending in person as a result of this new development, you may join us on Zoom where you may watch the concert from the comfort of your home. We are devoted to empowering women’s voices, uplifting women’s lives, and building a strong, vibrant community here in Santa Cruz.We’ve been offering Spring and Winter concerts since the year 2005, and almost every show has been a sell-out! We also love to sing at community events, marches, rallys, spiritual centers, and benefit concerts. Over the years we’ve offered our loving hearts and harmonious voices to the women at our local jail, and have given thousands of dollars to local organizations that care for people and the planet. We feel especially blessed that we had the great honor of singing before the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers for their 7th council meeting in Sedona, Arizona.
