No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region, and online through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. If you are opposed to sharing your lovely face, let us know and we'll do our best to avoid that. But, by using an event ticket you agree to let The Hive share your image in photo, audio, and video form. For Zoom classes we occassionally announce if we elecet to record- please let your host or faciliator know if you do not want to be recorded.)

At some point on a spiritual path, you will run into the very real experience of being hijacked by automatic responses which keep you from embodying spiritual qualities like living in the fullness of the present moment, compassion, love, forgiveness, acceptance and letting go.  It's humbling to keep running into your habits when some part of your knows there is another, more expansive way to live.   
Furthermore, your personality resists change (it's saying "don't go there...we've got a good thing going here) and will endlessly function to return you to the status quo.
It takes intention, awareness, guidance and practice to return again and again to spiritual Presence (receptive awareness) where you see things as they actually are rather than being bound in your body's automatic reactions and in the conditioned stories of your type structure. 
The Enneagram gives you a map of 9 different ways we "fall asleep" meaning we behave on automatic. Self-observation gives you "present moment" practice for loosening the confines of your type structure.  Intending to change is a start, but it's not strictly a cognitive endeavor. A regular 4 centered spiritual practice gives you a way of deepening spiritual Presence. It reorients your worldview, your conceptual framework (your familiar stories) and your understanding the nature of life itself. 
In this class, you will explore how the bias of your type structure keeps you bound. You will learn and practice 4 centered spiritual presence. 
This is an intermediate class and is designed for people who know their type and have had some time to observe how it plays out in your life.

Leslie Hershberger is a leading teacher of the Enneagram and a skilled facilitator, consultant and coach who's work spans the U.S and Europe. She's on the board of the International Enneagram Association and she's known not only for her unique interventions in team dynamics, but also for her humor and insightful facilitation of Enneagram panels. She's a huge fan of the work of The Hive and is excited to join us for this dive into the Enneagram. Leslie is one of the Hive's Core Facilitators.
