Classically trained in ballet, tap, and jazz from age 4 to 20, she’s been immersed in the performing arts all her life.With over 25 years of experience in public relations, advertising, sales, marketing, and promotions, Maria worked in print media, radio, and television. At WVIA Public Media she managed corporate sponsors and media partners, andAn accomplished grant writer, Maria has secured funding from foundations and government grants for various community projects, organizations, and artists. She has also served on the grant review panel for Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Department’s Community Project grant.For over 12 years, Maria has been on staff at the Scranton Cultural Center, wearing many hats. In 2016, she became the Artist Acquisition and Program Manager, responsible for research, audience development, booking, curating, and producing shows and events to align with the organization’s goals.She developed and curated the Underground Microphone Series, offering an intimate live music experience. Other shows include the annual Winter Blues Guitarmageddon and String Fling. Maria works closely with local, regional, and international touring artists, including multi-BMA and Grammy winners.
