AMERICAN FRIENDS OF CHARTRES (AFC) was founded as a non-profit organization in 2005 to assist in the restoration and preservation of the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Chartres, a priceless example of medieval art and architecture. The cathedral is a historic site of unparalleled artistic, intellectual and spiritual influence and is designated as a monument of paramount cultural significance on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
