This event will take place at <a href="https://www.theropecollective.com/" title="https://www.theropecollective.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Rope Collective</a> Studio in Barrio Logan, San Diego. Visit the Contact + Location tab of our website for studio access information. EVENT DETAILS:Part of our Core Curriculum and the first part of our "Fly Series"! In this class we will deep dive into structured hip and lower body harnesses, as an intermediate step to create a safe and effective suspension framework. We will explore a variety of hip harness styles, including front-loading, back-loading, and side loading. Each style has been tailored to support body weight in suspension, emphasizing safety, comfort, and dynamic load management. The class is structured to ensure a thorough understanding of the mechanics behind each harness and their applications in different suspension scenarios.Prerequisite Classes:“Foundations of Rope” *or equivalent, required*“Floor Series 1: Rope Handling” *or equivalent highly recommended, not required*“Floor Series 2: Body Mechanics” *or equivalent highly recommended, not required*“Floor Series 3: Knots and Frictions” *or equivalent highly recommended, not required*Recommended Foreknowledge:Basic knowledge of foundations/ soft skills including: informed consent, negotiation, aftercareBasic Safety risk knowledge including nerve impingement and loss of circulation.Basic non-collapsing single column tieRope handling skill set: Linking/Extending rope, maintained tensionSafety and Precautions:Given the advanced nature of suspension, participants are strongly encouraged to have a solid foundation in basic rope bondage techniques and an understanding of general safety protocols. This class includes rigorous safety briefings and mid-tie checks to ensure the well-being of all involved. <h2>FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS</h2>RECOMMENDED ITEMS TO BRING:Wear clothing that allows you to feel comfortable, empowered or expressive. This is not a play party and all guests will be encouraged to come in clothing that comfortable and/or expressive in ways that feel good to them but required to keep under garments on and pelvic area covered. We suggest something that you might wear to move freely without feeling restricted. Separate top and bottom that allows you to expose legs, arms, and belly may feel good for the interactive portions of this workshop but is optional.Please bring anything else that allows you to feel comfortable and we ask that you limit usage of strong perfumes/aromas to support a variety of sensory needs.
