Online Slow Stitching Workshop

Since graduating in BA Hons Fine Art in Cardiff, I have developed my career as a freelance project manager and artist educator in a broad range of art education projects. I have worked for museums, galleries and other organisations for over 23 years including: Fabrica Gallery, Towner, Arts Council England and Creative Partnerships, Sussex and Surrey.I have a keen interest in promoting the arts to a wider audience and as a tool for creative expression and learning. The aim is also to empower and inspire individuals in their own creative process.

Do you know how powerful your hands are?
I stitch, unravel and draw as my creative process. Switching off from the everyday and allowing your hands to connect with the moment is so effective. In these very odd times, more than ever we need to focus on our wellbeing and feel connected instead of feeling isolated. 
Slow stitching enables you to focus on your hands and be in the moment while making. It is my favourite creative process for when I need to feel calm and have some self care time. I want to share this process with you and show you how easy and beneficial it is for your wellbeing and mindfulness. No experience is required at all, instead I want you to think of it as mark making or drawing with needle and thread. Go with the flow, let the needle and thread lead the way to your calmness and see what develops. Please note, I am not teaching you sewing techniques.
I am running monthly Wednesday evening and Thurday morning sessions GMT.
Normally I would provide all the materials you need but for now all you really need is a needle, sewing thread and any piece of fabric. You could even cut up old pairs of jeans, pillow cases for example into squares for stitching. I personally don't use an embroidery hoop, so you don't even need to worry about that if you don't have one - its not a problem.

Earlybird tickets are available up to 2 weeks before the workshop.  1 Ticket per household, so if others in your household want to join they are more than welcome.
