For Berkeley Manufacturing Week 2024, the City of Berkeley Office of Economic Development (OED) is excited to announce a tour of Berkeley-based TCHO Chocolate Factory.Founded in 2008, TCHO Chocolate crafts award-winning, innovative chocolate by partnering directly with cocoa farmers worldwide. Through their unique TCHO Source program, they work closely at the farm level to improve cacao quality and consistency, ensuring each bean’s natural flavors shine. Like wine or coffee, cacao’s flavor is influenced by where it’s grown and how it’s processed— fermentation, drying, and roasting all play key roles. By working with farmers to perfect these steps, TCHO has made them true partners in creating exceptional chocolate. Each ingredient is thoughtfully selected to make chocolate that’s both delicious and inspiring for chefs, bakers, and chocolate lovers alike. Join us during Manufacturing Week for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of TCHO Chocolate’s factory in Berkeley. You’ll get to learn all about their TCHO Source program, Flavor Labs all around the world, and taste a variety of different organic and fair trade chocolatesThe tour will be limited to a group of 20, so get your tickets early!If you have any questions, please contact oedmailbox@berkeleyca.gov.
