The big, blue Albert Quie Education Center opened its doors at 913 Franklin Ave, Minneapolis in May of 2015, strategically adjacent to Mindekirken, the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church in the Ventura Village neighborhood. The location boasts a rich and diverse residential history.Through our programs—which include the Galleri at Norway House, Minnesota Peace Initiative, and the Edvard Grieg Society of Minnesota—you can experience contemporary art, design, and music. Visitors can engage in discussion about important topics that share links to Norway and the global community.We serve not only as a center for our programming, but also as a convening space and resource for our business and non-profit partners, locally and globally.

Visit Norway House and take a class in Norwegian making and baking!

Add some handmade beauty to your juletre!Skinnfell is the Norwegian folk art of sewing printed sheepskins into bed covers, clothes, toys, and decorations. In this class, Heidi Eger will show you how to make skinnfell ornaments using contemporary stamp designs. Everyone will make a red heart and then choose from a dozen additional stamps for their next two ornaments. Even if you don’t complete all three ornaments during class, you will have the skills to take the remaining material home and complete them there.Please bring a pair of sharp sewing scissors.Instructor Heidi raises sheep and fell in love with Skinnfell as a way to honor her beautiful flock. She also teaches Lefse, Krumkake, and Fårikål classes at Norway House. Please note: Norway House does not offer refunds.
