Levine Act Information Session #1

The mission of the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture is to advance arts, culture, and creativity throughout LA County. The department fulfills this mission by providing services and support in areas including grants and technical assistance for nonprofit organizations; professional development opportunities; commissioning civic artworks and managing the County’s civic art collection; implementing countywide arts education initiatives and the Arts Education Collective; research and evaluation; career pathways in the creative economy; free community programs; and cross sector creative strategies that address civic issues. This work is framed by the County’s Cultural Equity and Inclusion Initiative and a longstanding commitment to fostering access to the arts.

An information session about complying with the Levine Act (SB1439) as part of a Department of Arts and Culture grant application.

The Department of Arts and Culture is offering 30-minute informational sessions to support your understanding of the new requirements associated with compliance with the Levine Act (SB1439). Arts and Culture staff will review the purpose of the Levine Act, and the questions you will be required to respond to associated with Levine Act compliance, as part of your application to the <a href="https://lacountyarts.org/funding/organizational-grant-program" title="https://lacountyarts.org/funding/organizational-grant-program" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Organizational Grant Program</a> (OGP), <a href="https://lacountyarts.org/funding/community-impact-arts-grant-program" title="https://lacountyarts.org/funding/community-impact-arts-grant-program" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Community Impact Arts Grant</a> Program (CIAG), and <a href="https://lacountyarts.org/arts-internship-program" title="https://lacountyarts.org/arts-internship-program" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Arts Internship Program</a> (AIP).Please Note: Information provided by the Department during the session is for use by applicants for a grant award issued by the County of Los Angeles through the Department of Arts and Culture and does not constitute legal advice.
