The GABC Young Professionals (orGABC YP) is a subgroup of theGerman-American Business Council of Boston. TheYP Steering Committee, aligned with the GABC Executive Director and Board, work on programming, content and membership.  The objective of GABC YP is to connect and empower early-career professionals through social and business networking opportunities in the German-American community of Boston and beyond. They are open to professionals at early stages of their careers, from industry and academia including students, postdocs and recent grads.E﻿vents initiated or hosted by the GABC YPs are always open to regular GABC members and non-members as well, unless otherwise noted.

If you are starting out as a young professional or are fairly new into a career, financial planning may not be the first thing on your mind. This may be particularly true for those who are new to the United States or have spent many years in academia without a focus on financial literacy.“Building Blocks of Investing – Planning for the Road Ahead” is geared towards those who are interested in learning about investing fundamentals in the United States.From IRAs to ETFs, 401Ks to 529s -- this presentation by Erik Pelletier and the Carcieri &amp; Bock Group with Merrill will be a starting point for investing knowledge and skills for those who are ready to dive in deeper.The presentation will be followed by Q&A and networking.

Erik PelletierErik Pelletier is a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. He is motivated by helping clients with thoughtful and calculated personalized investment solutions and providing quality advice. Erik has a unique and diverse background in Engineering and Manufacturing and has worked and lived Germany and Mexico for two years.
