Is Georgetown, Texas really powered by 100% renewable energy? Energy experts will tackle this question and more at our community event in Georgetown, Texas. Georgetown, Texas is proud to be 100% powered by renewable energy, but is that really the case? Energy experts will meet with the Georgetown community to tackle this claim and answer questions from citizens who deserve transparent information. Attendees can expect a thorough run-down of everything energy including why renewables are unreliable, more expensive, and unsustainable. To understand why 100% renewable simply isn’t doable, participate in the event to hear the record set straight.

<A HREF="https://www.texaspolicy.com/experts/detail/kevin-roberts" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kevin Roberts, Ph.D.</A>, Executive Director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation.  Dr. Kevin Roberts has twenty years of experience as a teacher, professor, headmaster, and college president, and has been involved in a number of education reform initiatives around the country.

<A HREF="https://eei.rice.edu/charles-mcconnell/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Honorable Charles McConnell,</A> Executive Director of Rice University’s Energy and Environment Initiative. 
A 35-year veteran of the energy industry, McConnell joined Rice in August 2013 after serving two years as the Assistant Secretary of Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy.  At DOE, McConnell was responsible for the strategic policy leadership, budgets, project management, and research and development of the department's coal, oil and gas, and advanced technologies programs, as well as for the operations and management of the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve and the National Energy Technologies Laboratories.
Prior to joining DOE, McConnell served as Vice President of Carbon Management at Battelle Energy Technology in Columbus, Ohio, where he was responsible for business and technology management, including leadership of the Midwest Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership.

<A HREF="http://energyfairness.org/energy-veteran-laura-schepis-takes-helm-pace/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Laura Schepis</A>, Executive Director of the Partnership for Affordable Clean Energy. Schepis, a government relations and strategic communications expert based in Washington, D.C., has two decades of experience in energy advocacy on the federal level. She quarterbacked federal lobbying efforts on cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and telecommunications and contributed to efforts on many other issues, including transportation appropriations, commodity trading rules, energy efficiency and renewable energy standards. After practicing law in Georgia, Schepis relocated to Washington, DC, in 2000. There, she worked for the National Association of Development Organizations, the American Public Gas Association, and the American Public Power Association. For three years, Schepis served as Vice President of Political Affairs for the National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, where she led national messaging and political strategy on priority issues and presidential campaigns, designed and executed NRECA’s first significant presence at national political conventions, and delivered 1.2 million public comments to EPA on the Clean Power Plan.

His own research focuses on economic freedom and growth, property rights, civil justice, and regulatory issues.
