We believe that the human condition is increasingly challenged by poor experiences. IxDA intends to improve the human condition by advancing the discipline ofInteraction Design.To do this, we foster a community of people that choose to come together to support this intention. IxDA relies on individual initiative, contribution, sharing and self-organization as the primary means for us to achieve our goals.

Join us at IDEXX, Wednesday May 15th, for an evening of Ten-Minute Talks. Four speakers will present in a short format which will allow for some engaging Q&A between each talk. Thanks to IDEXX for hosting as well as sponsoring food and beverages. Hope to see you there!

1) The Designer’s Junk Drawer: everyday tools that deserve more love Eric Basford - Senior UX Researcher & Designer, IDEXX
Interaction Designers are always chasing the latest Sketch plugins or beta Adobe XD features, but sometimes our work just needs a little digital duct tape. Through nearly 20 years as a designer, Eric has accumulated a considerable junk drawer of tools, tips and tricks that are guaranteed to free-up time in your day, help you reach flow faster, and at the very least impress your coworkers.
 
2) ZeroHeight: New tools for design systems Alfonso Fabrega - Senior Visual Designer, Quick Base
A quick share of our experience using ZeroHeight to help create and maintain Bebop, the design system at Quick Base.
 
3) Add Video Production to your Design Tool Belt
Evan Grisley, UI Designer, IDEXX.
A quick run through of how video production can help tell a user story, show a unique interaction, or persuade your vision with tools you may have at your disposal.
 
4) The design of public restrooms
Zach Fichman-Klein, Senior Experience Designer, UNUM
A look at the interaction and service design components of public restrooms.
