"Woman in Gold" tells a story of an elderly Jewish World War II survivor who sued the Austrian government to recover artworks that belonged to her family and that were looted by the Nazis. The film is based on the case of Altman v. Republic of Austria, which commenced in a federal district court in California in 2000 and was appealed to the Supreme Court in 2004, before being decided on the merits in an Austrian arbitration proceeding in 2008.

If you do not line up to see the film before the spring break, join us for another nourishing and stimulating evening with fellow artists, lawyers and friends of both.

Art lawyers everywhere are thinking: "If E. Randol Schoenberg is played by Ryan Reynolds, who will be cast to play ME?!"

Special guests joining us for dinner to talk about restitution and arbitration include Lucille Roussin, Esq., Founder of the Holocaust Claims Restitution Practicum (NYC), Marc Masurovsky, Director of Holocuast Art Restitution Project (DC) and Pierre Ciric, Esq., Founder of the Ciric Law Firm (NYC).
