Introduction to Understanding and Managing Behavior in Autism

This presentation will help parents get a glimpse at how certain characteristics of autism affect an individual’s behavior. We will discuss what these behaviors mean, develop new ways to interpret behaviors and introduce some basic strategies to help parents manage behavior at home and in the community.

Objectives:

  • Review core characteristics of a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Develop an understanding of how core characteristics manifest themselves outwardly in behaviors associated with autism
  • Introduce basic strategies to help families manage behaviors at home and in the community

Please register by October 5 at noon.

For more information, please contact Nancy Popkin at npopkin@autismsociety-nc.org or 704-894-9678.
