Description

A night for local Bay Area businesses, featuring Phil Jaber, founder of Philz Coffee

You are invited to a free, exclusive night of networking and learning from some of our most successful business leaders. We'll bring out some champagne and chair massages so come meet other local businesses and form new friendships and partnerships. Or simply work out that knot in the back of your neck with a chair massage. Treat yourself!

The evening will feature a fireside chat with Phil Jaber, founder of Philz Coffee and Robyn Sue Fisher, CEO of Smitten Ice Cream. Learn how Phil emigrated from Palestine and grew a single coffee station in the Mission to an estimated $50 million in annual sales and see how Robyn plans to grow her ice cream parlor to 10 locations this year.

Joining Phil and Robyn is Seth Sundberg, owner of Prison Bars. A former professional basketball player and prison inmate where he served five years for tax fraud, Seth is in now launching a snack bar business. See what he learned in the prison kitchen that led him to this business venture.

Owen Thomas, Business Editor of the SF Chronicle, will also be part of the chat to lend his perspective on business trends in the Bay Area.

The evening will take place at historic Firehouse 8. The firehouse, damaged in the 1906 earthquake, cost a whopping $23,000 to replace at the time. It recently reopened after being vacant for 30 years.

Here's what we've got for you:

  • 6pm - 7pm: Treat yourself with champagne, truffles, massages and networking with other local businesses

  • 7pm - 7:45pm: Fireside chat and Q&A with Phil, Robyn, Seth, and Owen

  • 7:45pm - 9pm: More champagne, truffles, massages and mingling
