ABOUT PRINCETON ARTS ALUMNI
Princeton Arts Alumni was established in 2013 by Pilar Castro Kiltz ’10. Since its founding, the group has hosted two sold-out annual parties in NYC sponsored by The Lewis Center for the Arts, plus a Reunions 2014 reception packed to full capacity. We have gathered alumni to participate in a viewing and talk-back on Broadway's Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, where book writer Douglas McGrath '80 and Jarrod Spector '03 most generously engaged the crowd in a delightful conversation on theater. In May 2015, Donna Weng Friedman ’80 helped us present performances by current Princeton students at Steinway Hall in NYC. Every month, we publish e-newsletter promoting arts related events created by far-flung alumni and facilitate Arts Alumni Gatherings, as part of our mission. Please join the mailing list so you are in the loop as more events, programming, and resources are developed to help facilitate and cultivate a strong network of alumni who create, work in, and are passionate supporters of the arts. ABOUT THE LEWIS CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Princeton University’s programs in Creative Writing, Dance, Theater, Visual Arts and the interdisciplinary Atelier form the Lewis Center for the Arts. Envisioned by former President Shirley Tilghman as an initiative to elevate the quality and expand the breadth of creative opportunities on campus, the Lewis Center exists thanks to a community of partners across campus and the generosity of its extraordinary supporters. The Center serves the campus and the wider Princeton regional community through the presentation of over 100 public performances, exhibitions, readings, film screenings and lectures each year, most of them free. The Lewis Center is named in honor of the late Peter B. Lewis (1933 – 2013). A member of Princeton’s Class of 1955 and a former Charter Trustee of the University, Mr. Lewis ushered in a new era for the arts at Princeton with an unprecedented $101 million gift to the University in 2006.
