Join the award ceremony of Europe's most ambitious entrepreneur prize

Next Step Challenge is the most ambitious entrepreneur prize and accelerator program in Europe. The Challenge offers ambitious startups from all over the world the chance to be part of a unique business development program and access to the state-of-the-art digital infrastructure and smart grid of the Region of Southern Denmark.

The Challenge lasts five months and takes each company through an individually designed process to help transform and mature the business and to unleash their full potential. The vision of the program is to make the Region of Southern Denmark one of the most attractive places in the world when it comes to developing products and solutions based on the digital infrastructure of the future.

The ceremony marks the culmination of the competition where the grand prize of EUR 250,000 will be awarded and where investors and key stakeholders get the opportunity to experience 9 startups that will change the world.

  • Niels Duedahl CEO from SE will talk about the importance of leadership in innovation and corporate responsibility.
  • Peter Torstensen CEO at Accelerace will talk about startup talent development.
  • Preben Mejer Future scientist and innovation expert will talk about premises for innovation.
  • Tom Kristensen - Le Mans legend with 9 champion titles - will talk about what it takes to succeed - winning as a startup has a lot in common with the world of sports.
  • Mads Faurholt-Jørgensen a world class entrepreneur and co-founder af Nova Founders Capital will talk about the road to success and what it take to get there.



The 9 companies:

Braci - Braci is from Wolverhampton, Great Britain. Braci has developed a solution which is capable of detecting a wide range of sounds (both indoor and outdoor) such as smoke alarms, doorbells, babies crying, car horns and more. These sounds are then pushed as easily understood notifications through a smart device and vibration bracelet. www.braci.co

ParkTAG -ParkTAG started in May 2014 in Germany. ParkTAG can crowdsource curbside parking occupancy purely based on Smartphone sensors. Data from 2-6% of the drivers in a city is enough for the advanced algorithm to predict available parking spaces. www.parktag.mobi

Tablegrabber - TableGrabber is a Silicon Valley based startup that provides restaurants with software that allows the restaurants to forecast their demand and allow them to change their prices dynamically to increase their utilization and maximize their revenue potential.www.tablegrabber.com

Unified Remote - Unified Remote is a Swedish company founded in 2010 that provides you with the Unified Remote app for your computer. Admetsys - Admetsys is a Boston, MA (USA) based company. Admetsys has developed the first fully-automated blood glucose control system (i.e. artificial pancreas) for hospital care, optimizing a procedure that have remained unchanged for 30 years. www.admetsys.com

NWave - NWave Technologies was founded in Great Britain. NWave provides a low-power, high-range, and cost-efficient to deploy and communicate with IoT devices. The technology has many applications opportunities, the first of which to be implemented by NWave, is a parking system. Linc is a Danish company, founded in February 2015 and based in Esbjerg. Linc provide an end-to-end hardware and software solution for real-time monitoring and control of energy systems in any building. www.linc.world.

Next Step Challenge is the most ambitious entrepreneur prize and accelerator program in Europe created by SE, Bang & Olufsen A/S, Nupark, Færchfonden, The region of Southern Denmark and the accelerator Accelerace. The challenge has two tracks: Sound & Home Integration and Smart Energy & Digitalization that grants access to the expertise and know-how of Danish Design icon Bang & Olufsen a/s and the smart grid and digital infrastructure of SE, one of Denmark’s largest energy and telecom companies. Participants in the two program tracks compete for the 1st prize in Next Step Challenge of €250,000.
