Professor Thomas will review the state of the U.S. economy and its implication for market performance from his unique vantage point as a hybrid academic and practitioner. Thomas will frame his discussions from the perspectives of policy, business strategy, and asset allocation. MACRO & MARKETS will serve as an appropriate and interesting anchoring backdrop for summer business strategy retreats for upper management of corporations.

SamThomas - Professor, Banking and FinanceSam Thomas, PhD is a Professor of Banking and Finance at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. His research is centered on the practice of investment science and valuation. His focus is on integrating an understanding of the global business cycle with corporate finance strategy and investment strategy. One of Thomas’ recent projects focuses on innovations in designing life-long portfolios by understanding phases of the business cycle and incorporating that knowledge with asset allocation that is consistent with investment objectives. His results are particularly relevant for investment strategists, pension finance, and social security design.

Thomas also serves as the annual presenter at the David A. Bowers Economic Forecast Luncheon.
