Join Lunafest Phoenix for an evening of networking and fantastic short films made for, by and about women from around the globe. We welcome artists and art-lovers to Lunafest Phoenix 2014, where 15% of all proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Fund and 85% of all proceeds go to Phoenix's own Fresh Start Women's Foundation. That means 100% of all proceeds are donated to charity.
Lunafest is a project sponsored by LUNA, makers of the Whole Nutrition Bars for Women. It's both a film festival and a "fundraiser-in-a-box" that unites artists and communities in support of local women-geared nonprofit organizations across the United States. So far, LUNAFEST has featured 110 international filmmakers and has raised nearly $1.9 million dollars for nonprofits.
Thanks to partnerships with the City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation at Civic Space Park and SmartFem Magazine for Women, Lunafest Phoenix promises to be an inspiring, empowering and uplifting evening of entertainment.
LOCAL ARTISTS SHOWCASE RECEPTION
The event will also highlight great local work during our pre-festival Local Artists Showcase Reception, sponsored by Aramark and Filmstock Film Festival, at 6 p.m. Enjoy great food, networking, local art and live music by Phoenix-based musician April Bird.
We're also proud to premiere during our Local Artists Showcase "Patchwork Dreams," a short film written, directed and produced by local filmmaker Lee Quarrie. As a Grand Prize winner of the 2013 Beijing International Screenwriting Competition, Quarrie produced "Patchwork Dreams" in Beijing and Phoenix with local cast and crew.
