How many people make a full team?
A full team consists of 25 people. A full boat includes 20 Paddlers, 1 Drummer, 1 Steersman (provided). The extra 4 spots on your roster are to allow for alternates. Since this is an ALL DAY event, some people may only be available during part of the day. You can have two sets of people that switch throughout the day.
What do I need to start a team?
The Team Captain should be the first to register, and "Start" the team. At time of registration all you need is a team name, and a minimum $50 deposit. Basic Team Registration Fee is $1000. Fees will either be collected by each individual that registers to your team ($50), OR you can email LouisvilleDragonBoatFestival@gmail.com to make arrangements to be invoiced for the remaining $950 (due date TBA).
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Anyone 12 years of age and over can participate in the races, as a paddler or drummer. Minors must be registered for the races by their guardian, who must accept terms of registration (Sign waiver) for the child as well. Guardian must be present the day of the races, or provided proper documentation (permission slip) if participating with a school.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Teams will have a designated team area with a table, and a few chairs. Feel free to bring your own chairs. There will be plenty of delicious Asian, and traditional festival food at the event, but you may bring coolers as well. We highly recommend bringing a change of clothes/shoes, since more than likely you will be getting wet. There will be a separate changing area for men and women. So you know: costumes, team uniforms, and other fun team spirit apparrel is not only allowed, it's encouraged!

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, if you lose or misplace your ticket there will be a way to reprint by logging into your EventBrite account. If you need assistance with this contact us or EventBrite's very helpful 24 hour customer service.
