Junior Ranger Outdoor Safety & Survival Skills
Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (MDT)
Rangers know that fast moving rain or snow storms can hit at any time in Colorado. Being caught in bad weather is a dangerous situation for a ranger out on patrol. Knowing what to bring in your backpack and how to build an emergency shelter are skills that all rangers must know how to do.
Join us as we teach you basic outdoor safety and survival skills so that you can stay dry, warm and safe if you get caught in a storm.
Meet the rangers at the south trailhead at Heil Valley Ranch on August 3 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
You'll be in survivalist mode so wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty.
This event is part of the Junior Ranger Adventures Summer Challenge, a program for kids and adults to earn points and badges by completing challenges. It is meant to get you outdoors while using technology to track your progress. Earn enough points and you’ll be invited to a special celebration ceremony where you’ll have lunch with the rangers and a change to win awesome prizes.
