When & Where
Humane Society of Louisiana
We empower individuals and communities to create a no-kill state where the lives of all animals matter.
Founded in New Orleans in 1988, the Humane Society of Louisiana leads the fight against cruelty to animals statewide. Our direct care programs have touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of animals. Our programs include:
Cruelty Investigation and Prevention
Enoch J. Donaldson Animal Sanctuary - Mount Hermon, LA
TransPUPtation program - saves 1000 shelter animals from shelter euthanasia annually
Disaster Relief and Assistance to small shelters and rescuers
Creating Kinder Communities - education and outreach
We are a grassroots animal protection charity with a small staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers. We are not an affiliate of any larger group. We receive no tax funding, and we rely on private donations for support. Join us today to support our statewide work to make Louisiana a kinder and more compassionate place for all!
