Michael Lydon aka "The Handsomest Man in the World" and a writer and musician who lives in the East Village, is a major rock writer and a founding editor of Rolling Stone. Author of many books, among them Rock Folk, Ray Charles: Man and Music, and Writing and Life, Lydon has also written for the Atlantic Monthly, New York Times, and Village Voice. Brite Recoirds ha released his CDs, Love at First Sight and Paris in the Rain. A Yale graduate, Lydon is a member of ASCAP, and he teaches writing at St. John's University.
Cole Lumpkin is a 20-year-old multi-instrumentalist and producer from the heart of New York City who composes and performs a synthesis of progressive rock, fusion, and experimental music in various forms with various musicians. He has a natural attraction to a multitude of genres including blues, reggae, jazz, heavy metal and acid rock as well as jam rock and improvisational music. Having performed at many classic rock venues in and out of New York City including Sullivan Hall, B.B. Kings, Drom, The Naumburg Bandshell, National Underground, Mexicali Live, and the Brooklyn Bowl.
With music rooted in the funk of the 1970's, DerekMusic57 is a distinguished bass player who has rocked out venues throughout the Tri-State area. Ann Matthews began her theatrical journey in Brooklyn at age seventeen when she played the role of Bilbo Baggins in “The Hobbit.” She then attended the North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied pantomime, theatre and dance. She's a member of The Water Gap Players, a Pennsylvania-based theatre company that has featured her original monologues and scenes. Ann also co-wrote and performed in "Two Women Talking," a play about food, marriage, and addiction. In addition to her theatrical pursuits, Ann works as a para professional at an elementary school where she teaches the curriculum through music and dance. She currently lives in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania with her husband, John, and two boys, Willy and James.
For almost 20 years, Funkadelic Studios NYC has been the place for all types and levels of musicians to jam and practice their art. The New York rehearsalspace has seen it all, from a band’s first practice, to major label acts preparing for a European tour! Indie-folk, jazz, hip hop, rock, blues, country, electro, you name the genre, it’s been practiced at Funkadelic.
