You're funny, but is your audience on the edge of their seats, breathless to see what crazy things you'll do next? They could be. You just need to get out of your head and into your sizzling hot guts.

GUT FUNNY demands your heart, your bones, and all your fluids. We want to see how funny you can be without thinking or trying. Through total honesty and fierce play of Lecoq-style clown, your most hilarious and watchable self will be revealed. Participants will experience the joy of being onstage metaphorically “naked”, and in that nakedness, finding and honing the instincts that lead you to discover your own unique comedic style. Each participant will leave the workshop with a deeper sense of connection to the audience, a more organic, relaxed way of being on stage, and surefire ways to get love from a crowd. Turn on your funniest self, and set it free!

Note: This workshop is very physical. Workout wear only. No socks/shoes, no jeans. Bring a skullcap, ski hat, or a pair of pantyhose (they make a great hat), and/or clips to get any hair out of your face. Bring a journal and a snack for the break.

Bio:

DEANNA FLEYSHER is a comedy artist, teacher and director. She created Foreplay, an erotic improv comedy show that ran for a year at the People's Improv Theater in NY and was featured at the Chicago Improv Festival. She created, produced and starred in Kill Me Loudly: A Clown Noir and The Kapinski Private Eye Academy at the NY Clown Theatre Festival, and is the director/co-writer of Red Bastard, the international bouffon sensation. Her solo show BUTT KAPINSKI has won awards and accolades across North America. Currently, she tours with Butt and teaches workshops in comedy, vulnerability and character in Los Angeles and everywhere else.
