Event Details

Glappitnova is a festival where entrepreneurs, athletes, influencers, startups, artists, performers, marketers, socialites, creatives, dancers, techies, and more unite for 3 days through 10 minute storytelling sessions, amazing parties, and diverse networking opportunities. It started with two friends sharing stories and grew into an awesome movement for millenials. We focus on storytelling, performances, teaching, and networking held in Chicago. This is a 21 an older event series.

Creating your own content? It's not as easy as just writing a script, piecing together a cast and crew, grabbing a camera and shooting! It's about professionals working with professionals after is called Show Business not Show Art. This workshop will introduce you to the world of professional SAG-AFTRA actors and the many low budget Agreements that SAG-AFTRA has to offer filmmakers. There are Agreements for shorts, features, webisodes - you name it! Actors and filmmakers alike will find this information to be invaluable. Please join SAG-AFTRA actor Troy Pryor and Kathy Byrne, Director of TV/Theatrical for SAG-AFTRA Chicago.

Designing Creativity: The Science of Creative Thinking

Do better work by applying basic scientific principles to your creative process. This interactive workshop starts with a discussion of the way evolution tries to make us fundamentally unoriginal, along with strategies to actively disrupt that instinct. Then we'll move on to a dynamic group brainstorming session to apply those principles.

Are our events 21 and over?

-Yes, all events are 21 and over. 


Will alcoholic beverages be served?

-Yes, at the “Big Night” beer will be provided, complimentary of Miller Coors. Wine will be available for purchase.


Will food be available?

-Yes, there will be two food trucks serving food for purchase outside - The Jerk Truck and The Fat Shallot.

How do I get there?

-If you are coming from the Loop, travel West on Grand and turn left on Armour which is one block East of Ashland. Travel two blocks South on Armour until you reach the brick wall/ train tracks and turn left. You will see the food trucks and people outside.


Is there free parking available?

-Yes, a good amount of free parking will be available along Kinzie, West of Moonlight Studios. Parking will be on a first come first serve basis. There is also metered parking available close by on Grand.


What is your refund policy?

-All tickets are non-refundable.


What will I get out of coming?

-Hear stories from some of the Chicago's best, entertained by performers, network with young influentials, party like it's 1999, and learn various skills through our amazing teachers. 


Can I purchase tickets at the door?

-No, tickets will only be sold online and will be unavailable at the door. We are expecting a sell out.


Do I need to come for the entire event?

-No, at the “The Big Night” you can come and go as you please. Attendees will receive a wristband upon entrance. 


What is the dress code?

-There will be a wide variety of fashionable, corporate, and everyday people. So express yourself with your own style.


How did you select the speakers?

-We carefully chose the presenting speakers through months of networking, referrals, searching scary low lit alleys, and our intimate "Influencer Meetups." Everyone has an awesome story that the Glappitnova committee has personally heard. We can’t wait to share them with our guests.


How do I find out about more events, sessions, and meetup?

-Subscribe at, we will be rolling out some huge changes after the festival that our subscribers will have access to first.
