An open community movement led by youth interested in technology.

Volunteer-led, Mentor-driven.

Free to those with ambition + willingness to fail forward!

* Official Fredericksburg Area Coder Dojo *

FredxCoders are back for another year of kids learning coding and making skills in Fredericksburg area, Virginia. Are you new to our efforts?

This year, we are asking our community to help us define student interest prior to events by selecting tickets aligned with specific topics. (Choose Only 1 Ticket Type) If you are unsure what to pick, choose the general interest ticket. We will use this information to inform mentors of community interest in those topics, as well as others. Please monitor your spam email folder for incorrectly routed messages from us.

While the event will officially begin at 10:00am, you are encouraged to show up 15 minutes early. Bringing your own laptop is encouraged, but not required. The University of Mary Washington makes the use of their computer lab available to FredxCoders events as our anchor sponsor. Thanks UMW!

No prior experience is necessary.

As always, parents are required to stay onsite with their children. This is how we keep these programs free and is not optional.

This event is open and free to kids aged 7-17.

Mentors, please regsiter as well.

Most of our activities as a community are documented and may be interacted with via:

Thank you to our supporters, sponsors, mentors and parents, without whom these events would not be possible. Special thanks to RedHat for supporting our efforts with the purchase of Raspberry Pi computers and server hardware for educational use by students.

If your company or organization would like to contribute to these open educational efforts, please contact us for more information. We are always seeking support for our educational objectives, and mentors are always in short supply. Consider volunteering as we work to advance the skills of our community in this time of rapidly increasing technology capabilities, and its absence from most early education institutions.
