Where is the event located

Fam Bam/ Oakland's Juneteenth Festival is located at the beautiful Lake Merritt Amphitheater in Oakland Ca. The location is on Lake Merritt Blvd between 12th st and E 12th st across from the Henry J Kaiser building, OMCA and Alameda County Courthouse.

How do we get there?

Accepted Answer

Rideshare and public transportation is highly recommended, but limited street and local parking garages are available in the area. Prepare for street closures and detours.

Question 3

What is the age limit for the festival? Do kids get in free?

Accepted Answer

There is no age limit. This is a family friendly festival for the whole family. Kids 14 years and younger are encouraged to come and get in free.

Question 4

Can I pay with cash?

Accepted Answer

Event entry passes can only be purchased online on this Eventbrite page. No tickets will be sold at the door. The bars are also cashless, but other vendors will accept all forms of payment.

Are my fees tax deductible?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Afrocentric Oakland is a fiscally sponsored non-profit 501c3 by the Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation. Your admission, VIP, cabana, bar, vendor booth, and sponsorship fees are all tax deductible.

Can we bring outside food and drinks?

Accepted Answer

Outside food, factory sealed drinks, water and coolers. We will have a full bar for you inside the event.

What else can we bring?

Accepted Answer

Chairs, umbrellas, tents, canopies, tables are welcomed behind cabanas. Low chairs and blankets are welcomed in front of cabanas. Please no umbrellas, canopies tents etc. in front of the cabana area to maximize view for all

What is not allowed

Accepted Answer

No in and outs, grills, amplified sound/speakers, drones or professional cameras without media pass, banners, custom tents with promo, org flags etc., no vending or selling odf any goods without a pre purchased vendor booth.

What else is not allowed?

Accepted Answer

No solicitation of guests, no handing out flyers, or media, no fireworks, no pets, no cigarette smoke in crowded areas (step off to the edge of the events), No refunds, No weapons of any kind. No arguing or harassing women. You will be asked to leave. Good vibes only.

Will I and my belongings be searched before entering?

Yes, your safety and security is our highest priority. We will have 5 layers of security at this event with OPD around the exterior, perimeter security fencing, professional security searches of all persons and belongings at entry gates  and 2 groups of security throughout the event space

What is the festival's policy on refunds or cancellations?

Sorry, all purchases are final. No refunds or cancellations for attendees, cabanas or vendors

Who is the caban purchase for?

Accepted Answer

A cabana purchase is a great way to treat yourself. This package is great for people who want to pack light, arrive at their leisure, have a reserved space, seating and bottle service with the best views.

What is included with my cabana purchase?

Accepted Answer

Includes reserved 10' X 10' high end canopy, table, 5 chairs, choice of alcohol, cups and ice with great views of the stage and dance floor. The package includes one VIP express entry and bar pass. Additional guests must purchase general or VIP entry passes. Choose alcohol at check out.

How many tix come with my cabana reservation?

Accepted Answer

A cabana purchase comes with one VIP entry ticket. This ticket gives you event access, VIP express line use at entry and bar. This ticket must be presented before any guests can begin to use the cabana. Your guests can buy general or VIP tix and you can split the total cost.

Question 16

How many people can I have in my cabana? How many people fit comfortably?

Although the cabana comes with 5 chairs and fits 4-5 people comfortably, you can have as many people as you like in your cabana. All of your guests must fit inside the 10' X 10' area and not spill out into neighboring cabana spaces or outer walkways

Can I install my own additional canopy next to my caban for added space?

Accepted Answer

No. We need to maintain 8 ' walkways around the cabanas at all times. It's ok to install a canopy near by as long as it is 8' away. You can also purchase two neighboring cabanas. Most guests who need more space go in with friends to purchase a front row and back row cabana create a 10' X 20' space

Can I decorate my cabana?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Past guest have purchased cabins for engagements parties, company parties, birthdays, graduation parties etc. You are allowed to decorate your cabana, but you are responsible for removing and cleaning up all of your decorations.
