Emergency Medical Technician, (EMT)

The first night of class is an introduction to the course and an overview of what will be taught during the four months of the class. Class meets every Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm. The class is mostly hands-on demonstration, practice, skills proficiency, and interactive medical lectures. Class includes clinical experience, field trips and a few Saturday sessions for auto extrication practice, water rescue and safety, emergency wilderness medicine and practice Moulage scenarios. First night class will include, course overview and highlights, agenda, demonstrations and a question and answer time for all who attend.

The EMT class is designed for those persons interested in emergency care careers or simply obtaining more in-depth knowledge and skills to assess and provide care to ill or injured patients. The 4 month program prepares students for National and State certification examinations as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). EMT certification is an excellent skill for any graduating student, community member or person interested in healthcare, disaster, business safety, or medical volunteer work. EMT certification is also a great addition to your resume and there are many jobs available for EMT's throughout the country in various occupations including ambulance companies, air medical services, firefighter, law enforcement, disaster services, emergency management, and business health and safety management. There are many EMS job openings, as full-time, part-time and casual positions with ambulance services throughout the state and region.

Morris, MN - January 13, 2015 - classes meet every Tuesday & Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM at Stevens County Ambulance Service.
Fergus Falls, MN - January 12, 2015 - classes meet on Monday & Thursdays evenings from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM at Ringdahl Ambulance Service in Fergus Falls.

EMT education is offered for 4 college credits and is also available to PSEO high school students at the Morris Area High School, surrounding high schools and home school students. For more information on college credit, contact us or your school counselor.
