Description

"Comprehensive Pain Assessment for Clinicians – New Frameworks and Tools to Optimize Patient Outcomes" by Dr. David Walton PT PhD

New approaches to pain assessment for clinicians: In this half-day session, leading expert in pain assessment and evaluation Dr. David Walton (Western University, London Canada) will engage with participants in a fruitful and practical exploration of the many ways in which pain can be assessed and evaluated in the clinic, and how sound assessment can be used to create targeted intervention programs. Building on new models for pain assessment (Walton & Elliott, MSKSP vol. 36:17-24, 2018) and new approaches to pain assessment including both psychophysical, functional, and self-report, participants will gain new skills for pain phenotyping, evaluating conditioned pain modulation, and identifying exercise-induced hyperalgesia. The tools to be discussed and interpretation guides for them will be provided to all registrants.

Registration begins at 7:45am. This course is open to all health care professionals.

Registration deadline: March 30th at 4:00pm.

Please note: Course material will be provided by the instructor online only!
