This Opportunity Has Expired--Stay Tune For April 2015!

Join Comcast and United Way's Young Leaders Society to paint murals & quotes, build bookshelves, and organize books. Come early ready to lend some muscle, a light breakfast and boxed lunch will be provided. The Genevieve Melody STEM School in West Garfield Park neighborhood. This is an opportunity to help revitalize a Chicagoland school in great need. 

If you're volunteering with a group, enter your group name during sign-up for a chance to win YLS event tickets. 

When? 

  • Saturday, April 26th 
  • 8am-12pm

What?

  • Painting inspirational quotes and murals throughout the school
  • Organizing books in the library
  • Paint playground graphics
  • Building planter boxes for stairwells
  • Build bookshelves for classrooms
  • Update the staff lounge

  • The Genevieve Melody STEM School in West Garfield Park neighborhood
 
The Genevieve Melody STEM School is a merger of Delano Elementary School and Genevieve Melody Elementary School. Hosting grades K-8, the school's main focuses are Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The school is a recipient of the 2012 Academic Improvement Award from the district. The student population is 625, of which over 96% are low-income students.
