The Capital University Christmas Festival has become one of Columbus's most beloved Christmas traditions, and for many marks the beginning of the holiday season. Each concert features singers from four choral ensembles and multiple instrumentalists from the Conservatory and the Columbus community.
This year's Festival continues a legacy dating back to the 1928 founding of the Capital University Chapel Choir, and for 95 years the Christmas Festival has been the university's annual Christmas gift to the community.
Set in the intimate and beautiful Mees Hall, the concerts include choral music unified by a central, spiritual theme and interspersed with readings of poetry, prose, and scripture. Using every part of the concert hall (including the aisles and the balcony), the choir embraces the audience in song during this cherished event.
