'Britain’s Place in the World' - CaSE Annual Lecture with Hilary Benn MP

The UK’s research and innovation endeavour stands to be considerably affected by the UK’s decision to leave the European Union. Not only is science the second largest recipient of EU funds to the UK after agriculture, but it benefits from the structures for collaboration, regulation, shared facilities and expertise that have been built by the European Union over many years.

CaSE is delighted to invite you to its 2017 Annual Lecture, given by the Chair of the Exiting the European Union Select Committee, the Rt Hon Hilary Benn MP.

The Committee Chair will offer his insight on the UK's journey through Brexit, how the UK can seek to establish anew its place in the world, and the role of the UK's scientific standing in that achieving that task. His lecture will offer a fascinating insight from the heart of politics on the ramifications of Brexit, and how our science and engineering endeavours can contribute to Britain’s future.

The event is kindly hosted by the Institution of Engineering and Technology at Savoy Place in Central London.

Guests will be welcomed with refreshments from 6.30pm, with the lecture commencing promptly at 7pm. After the lecture concludes we invite you to join us for a drinks reception until 9.30pm.
