The BHSEC Assessment was created and developed by the BHSEC faculty and administration to assess applicants writing, thinking, and mathematical skills.
- There are two parts to the assessment: a math section which assesses the student’s current math level, and an essay writing section based on a selected reading.
- General education applicants are given one and a half hours to complete the entire assessment.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The M14D and M21 buses both stop in front of the school. Check the MTA's website for the best public transportation options.
Street parking is limited
What can/can't I bring to the event?
You MUST bring a copy of your academic record from last year. If it does not include your attendance, please bring a copy of your attendance record.
You should bring a #2 pencil.
You may bring a cell phone however it must remain off and out of sight when you enter the building
You should not bring recommendations or other items that have not been requested.
You should not bring a calculator.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
No. You may not transfer your registration
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
No. Please update the registration with the applicant's name.
Is there a designated waiting area for parents and guardians?
No. Please make arrangements to meet your family somewhere outside of Bard High School Early College.
