AnyLogic 7 Training Course - October 20-22
- Science & Technology
- Civic Opera Building , Chicago IL
Over four and one-half days, the AnyLogic Workshop for Actuaries will introduce actuaries and actuarial analytics professionals to agent-based modeling and simulation (ABMS). The Workshop will include an intensive series of lectures and hands-on laboratories to introduce you to the ideas and tools of ABMS, and their application to complex business problems. Because the Workshop includes time for you to work on a special project and to obtain expert advice about it, you should bring a modeling project with you.
Who should attend:
Although many models demonstrated during the Workshop will be related to health system simulation, the Workshop is designed for all actuaries and all actuarial analytics professionals. There is a special 15 percent discount for each actuary and actuarial analytics professional attending as part of a team from one company.
The Workshop covers foundational material and has no prerequisites. However, it would be helpful for you to have basic Java programming knowledge. To this end, prior to the Workshop you should read Chapter 10 (Java for AnyLogic users) of Andrei Borshchev’s book titled “The Big Book of Simulation Modeling” from www.amazon.com. Also, you must bring your own laptop and a mouse to the Workshop. Prior to the Workshop, you should download AnyLogic Professional software.
For ABMS development, the Workshop will use AnyLogic software. As a participant, you will receive a free six-month license for the professional version of AnyLogic simulation software. You will receive your six-month license key on the first day of the workshop.
Number of participants:
To maintain an optimal learning environment, the Workshop is limited to 15 participants.
Continuing professional development credit:
The Workshop may be suitable for up to 35 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) credit for actuaries. To determine the actual number of hours from the Workshop that you will be able to apply as credit, review the rules of the standard you are fulfilling. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to make a reasonable good-faith determination as to whether a continuing education event meets the requirements.
