Welcome to the 9th Annual Kids Fishing Event!
Join the Kiwanis Club of Brownwood for a fun-filled morning of fishing at Early Town Center Lake. This in-person event is perfect for kids 16 and under who love the outdoors and want to learn how to fish. The first 150 to register will get a free rod, reel, and bait. TWPD will provide a limited loaner tackle. Additionally, there will be educational programs from TPWD Inland Fisheries, State Parks, Law Enforcement, Heart of Texas Nature Center. Bring your fishing gear or borrow some of ours—either way, get ready to catch some fish!
Our event celebrates fishing for kids of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're taking your first steps into the world of angling or you're a seasoned pro, there's something for everyone to enjoy. This is a golden opportunity to connect with nature, forge new friendships, and create lasting memories.
Pecan Valley Kiwanis will cook hot dogs with chips and drinks until they run out.

**PLEASE NOTE EVENT CHANGES** Due to the rain we received the event got moved from June 1st to June 8 th. It's crucial to understand that a fishing license will be necessary for anyone over 17 who intends to fish. The event no longer falls on Free Fishing Day in Texas. This requirement is not just a formality but a legal obligation that safeguards the safety and sustainability of our fishing activities. If you're assisting your child, no fishing license will be needed.
