About this event

* MASKS AND PROOF OF FULL COVID VACCINATION WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY*

You are invited to participate in the Arizona Meal Pack for 9/11 Day.

Our organization is collaborating with HandsOn Greater Phoenix to organize a signature meal pack in Phoenix in observance of the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and the federally-recognized September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.

On Saturday, September 11, 2021, more than 1,000 volunteers from throughout the Greater Phoenix community will help pack at least 200,000 healthy, non-perishable meals. To help address the growing food crisis, all the meals will be donated to and distributed by St. Mary's Food Bank and United Food Bank to individuals and families who are food insecure.

Here's a two-minute video that highlights our signature meal packs.

Volunteers will participate in a 2-hour shift at the Phoenix Convention Center. This project is family friendly – we just recommend that kids are old enough (12+) to help pack meals.

Click on REGISTER to choose from available volunteer shifts (you’ll pack meals for approximately two-hours). We’ll then send you an online ticket through email. Please remember to bring your ticket with you to the event, and arrive at least 20 minutes early for security check-in. This event is FREE! However, space is very limited so register immediately. If you have questions or want to register a larger group, please contact dustin.speakman@911day.org.

The Arizona Meal Pack for 9/11 Day is one of 11 signature meal packs happening around the country on 9/11.

It’s our way of keeping the promise to “Never Forget.”

In consideration for being permitted to participate as a volunteer in the Service Project being organized in observance of 9/11 under the management of MyGoodDeed (d.b.a. “9/11 Day”), I acknowledge that my participation in the Service Project may subject me and my family to risk of injury, sickness or death, and I hereby release and hold harmless the 9/11 Day Parties from any and all liability for injury, sickness or death that may occur before, during, or after my service, related in any way to my participation in the Service Project, to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

COVID-19:

At 9/11 Day, we remain committed to creating and running Meal Pack events that prioritize the health and safety of all volunteers and participants while also honoring the spirit of service and kindness that arose in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks.

As a result of COVID-19, hunger and food insecurity are at crisis levels in communities across the country. The Meal Packs for 9/11 Day will bring up to 2.5 million healthy, non-perishable meals to individuals and families at risk of hunger and will further draw attention to this dire need.

We have adopted a careful and responsible COVID vaccination and mask policy across all ten Meal Pack locations.

Due to COVID-19, the following guidelines must be followed in order for individuals to participate in the Service Project:

All participants must be fully vaccinated (a minimum of two weeks since second dose or Johnson & Johnson shot) and provide proof of vaccination to enter the Project. Acceptable proof of vaccination includes:

CDC Vaccination Card

All participants are required to wear masks in order to enter, and at all times during the Project. Masks must be worn correctly, with mouth and nose fully covered, at all times. Masks will be provided for any who need them, though participants may bring and wear their own if preferred.

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to participate in the Project, due to their inability to be vaccinated. Children over the age of 12 may participate if they are fully vaccinated, but they must show proof of vaccination.

Please be aware that this is a public activity that involves and requires relatively close contact with others during the time you are participating in the Service Project. While we have established these guidelines to help reduce the risk of you and other participants coming into contact with others who may be COVID-19 positive, and possibly contracting the COVID-19 virus, we cannot guarantee that these steps will prevent participants from being exposed to COVID-19 at the Service Project.

Participation in the Service Project is voluntary. By registering for, and participating in the Service Project, participants acknowledge the foregoing and assume, to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law, all risk for contracting COVID-19 and related injury, illness or death, and they agree not to hold the 9/11 Day Parties responsible. Anyone with concerns regarding their health, safety or well being should not participate in the Project.
