Description

JETAANC invites Bay Area alumni and guests to meet in downtown San Jose's San Pedro Market for Happy Hour followed by a San Jose Walks & Talks tour.

San Jose's colorful past is often hidden behind or at times buried below, the office buildings that are the modern face of the city. Your tour guides, local San Jose students, have done the research to bring those San Jose stories back to life. They also make the tour interesting for a variety of audiences by introducing public art, culture and a few small business success stories.

This is an ideal night to trek down to San Jose as the city will also come alive with its monthly First Friday event. You can take advantage of the free admission and extended evening hours of the "omoshiroi" museums in the SOFA Arts District. There is also an added "matsuri" experience this Friday as teh Mariachi Festival will celebrate the music and heritage of Mexico. Our hour long walking tour will lead you right into the path of these two fun events.

San Pedo Square Market is at the intersection of San Pedro and St. John streets in downtown San Jose. Guests are welcome to gather for Happy Hour around 5pm and the Walking Tour will leave from the central outdoor Adobe Plaza at 6pm.

San Jose Walks and Talks is a student-run small business that gives kids career experience worthy of putting on a resume. San Jose Walks and Talks was started by JET Alum Gred Adler, ALT Ibaraki-ken. This JETAANC tour will be offered free of charge buts tips and donations are always appreciated.
