Veggies Do It Better Events
Chelsea V Davis is a full-time community organizer that is passionate about vegan advocacy, sustainable living, building community, and climate, social, and food justice. In addition to being the founder of Veggies Do It Better Events and the Vegan Night Market®, she is the co-founder of Animal Rights Collective Portland (ARCPDX) and the International Vegan Earth Day March.
She had the idea of the Veggies Do It Better Vegan Night Market back in early 2015 while organizing Portland Vegfest but it wasn’t until 2019 that she could bring her vision to fruition. After a very successful launch in December 2019, she started planning a large-scale Veggies Do It Better Vegan Night Market for March 2020. The pandemic forced her to make the event virtual and wait until August 2022 to start again.
Thanks to the support of Snackrilege Foods she relaunched with 22 vendors with the hopes that 500 people would show up. 2200 people came from all over the PNW, over $5,000 was raised for Wildwood Farm Sanctuary, and tens of thousands of dollars were circulated into the local vegan community. Since then the Veggies Do It Better Vegan Night Market has grown exponentially and become a must-attend vegan event in the United States.
Since 2011, Chelsea has organized 100s of in-person and virtual events including other vegan food festivals, protests, marches, VegFests, international health and animal rights conferences, summits, panels, activism tours, fundraisers, the Master Veg Program, legislative actions, and more.
She regularly speaks on effective communication and activism, climate change, animal rights, nontoxic living, sustainability, and plant-based cooking, among other topics.
Chelsea is also the owner of The Roaring Vegans, an admin of the largest vegan Facebook group in the PNW, the creator and admin of the Large Vegan Event Organizers Unite Facebook group with over 600 organizers from around the world, a contributor on Unchainedtv Global News Network, and active in several animal rights and social and food justice campaigns and legislation.
Chelsea resides in Portland, OR with her hunter-turned-vegan activist husband and #1 volunteer, Jake, & their rescue pup, Edith.
