Researchers at the UF/IFAS Indian River Research and Education in Fort Pierce invite the public to attend Open House event on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The center is located at 2199 South Rock Road, Fort Pierce, Florida. Attendees will participate in a guided tour of the facility that has served local agriculture for more than 75 years. Director Dr. Ronald D. Cave will lead tours to laboratories where attendees will walk-through laboratories and greenhouse and meet scientists. Trolley tours of active research fields. Participants will ride the trolley to the Aquaculture Demonstration site where inside the Hatchery Building, scientists spawn gorgeous ornamental fish for the first time in captivity.
