Hi! My name is Sam Nelson, and I'm a very big plant geek. I was a reading and writing teacher for many years before I decided to pursue a career in outdoor education, particularly focused on connecting story-telling, plants, and creative science learning. I'm a teacher, writer, naturalist, and arborist. For years I helped plant over 1,000 trees in DC schools with kids, but now I want to find new ways to engage folks in plant education. Building relationships with trees and plants enriches our lives, communities, and environment. It can also expand our sense of community in magical ways.
