Thouria Benferhat was born in Morocco and grew up in Algeria and the United States. She holds a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education from Georgetown University, and has been teaching since the late seventies. She taught Arabic, French, English and Spanish to learners of all ages. For 36 years, she taught Arabic at the United Nations Language Program at Headquarters in New York. She thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of teaching people from all corners of the world and learning from her amazing students. She retired in 2017. After raising three multilingual children, she now enjoys teaching languages online, as well as sharing about languages in her writings.
