The Big We is a nonprofit social enterprise building resources and infrastructure for the cultural economy. We do this through storytelling, creative placemaking, and social entrepreneurship. We use art, culture, and story to help build communities where people thrive from the culture they create.

The Big We currently powers two living examples of this work. Historic Clayborn Temple, Memphis’ only Certified National Treasure and home of the iconic “I AM A MAN” imagery, is where we turn a place of deep cultural history into a space where culture lives and people gather today. The second is the Memphis Culture Coalition, where Memphis creatives and arts professionals come together to grow the local cultural economy and tell the city’s story through Memphis Culture.
