Rebecca Chapa is a Certified Wine Educator and Certified Sommelier. Steeped in wine since studying at Cornell University School of Hotel Adminstration, Chapa’s first attempt to winter on Nantucket in 1993 was interrupted by a job offer to work at Windows on The World at the World Trade Center. Chapa spent some time in her native New York working at Nobu, Tribeca Grill and Montrachet before she went west to be immersed in wine culture. She received the Diploma Wine & Spirits and worked both at Rubicon restaurant and as wine director of Jardiniere in San Francisco. In 1999 she started her own consulting companies, Tannin Management and Wine by the Class. She has taught at the Culinary Institute of America, UC Berkeley Extension, San Francisco Wine School, Wine and Spirits Education Trust and many more, but don’t worry this won’t be a stuffy tasting, her approach is all about fun while learning.
