Independent author, publisher and photographer LaShawnda Jones is traveling to several cities in the United States to photograph women representing their idea of womanhood. Selected portraits will be part of an anthology for which written submissions are being accepted from June 15-August 31, 2018. The working title of the combined project is I AM WOMAN: Experiences of Black Womanhood in America.  

LaShawnda has published several books and calendars. Her primary themes are faith, women and social justice. She speaks nationally on self-image, self-esteem, sexual assault and identity in Jesus Christ.
