Sarah Tracton
Sarah Tracton is a multidisciplinary artist and lighting designer who pushes the boundaries of materiality, blending fine art, functional design, and craft. A National Art School graduate, she has gained international recognition for her innovative porcelain lighting, renowned for its ethereal translucency and experimental techniques. Using the Japanese Kintsugi method, she transforms shattered porcelain into luminous works that embody resilience and the circular economy.
Tracton’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at ICFF New York and the upcoming DesignArt Tokyo 2025, with support from the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body. A recipient of multiple accolades—including the Good Design Award (2021), AMP Tomorrow Maker, Creative Victoria Creators Fund recipient (2022), Australia’s Next Top Designer (2022/23), and Design Fringe People’s Choice (2024)—she has also held solo exhibitions at Abbotsford Convent, Glowing Structures, and Linden New Art.
