The Cool Revisited

Encouraged by Teresa D. Totten's “think of the library beyond the books” philosophy and creative direction; Scribes & Vibes ™ crafted Rhythm & Rhymes ™ to remix "The Cool" and to encourage the Conyers-Rockdale Library System community to “LIBRARY OUT LOUD!”

 

To celebrate the cultural heritage of jazz and poetry and to highlight the rhyme and reason of Scribes & Vibes ™ during Jazz Appreciation Month and National Poetry Month, Rhythm & Rhymes ™ was launched at Nancy Guinn Memorial Library; on April 16, 2016. 

 

To reinforce the cultural importance of jazz and poetry beyond the month of April, @scribesandvibes curated and sponsored Rhythm and Rhymes ™ at Wesley Chapel - William C. Brown Library. Rhythm and Rhymes ™ at the Wesley Chapel branch was held on the following dates:

1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on February 11, 2017 during DeKalb County Public Library's Love Your Library Month Campaign

1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on May 13, 2017 during DeKalb County Public Library's Older Americans Month Campaign

1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on July 15, 2017 during Rhythm and Rhymes™ National Ice Cream Month Celebration

 

To champion the importance of jazz and poetry in areas of early childhood development; Scribes and Vibes ™ crafted Rhythm and Rhymes Storytime ™ to advocate music and movement experiences and the educational benefits of nursery rhymes.

 

To further the advancement and development of jazz and poetry during Jazz Appreciation Month and National Poetry Month, Rhythm & Rhymes Storytime ™ was launched at Wesley Chapel - William C. Brown Library; on the following dates:

10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017

10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017

10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017

10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017

To strengthen our commitment to early childhood education and to make storytime more accessible; Scribes and Vibes ™ unveiled Rhythm and Rhymes Storytime ™ at Starbucks on January 25, 2020.

 

To further the expound the ethos of Rhythm & Rhymes Storytime ™ and shine a light on our favorite librarians, educators, and literacy advocates, the Storytime at Starbucks Series served as an anchor to propel Pop-Up Storytime and Storytime Saturdays.

To reinforce the library as a community locale and to celebrate the cultural importance of jazz and poetry beyond the month of April, @scribesandvibes curated and sponsored Rhythm and Rhymes ™ at Central Library. Rhythm and Rhymes ™ at Central Library branch was held on the following dates:

2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on February 12, 2022 during Fulton County Public Library System's Black History Month Celebration

2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on March 12, 2022 during Fulton County Public Library System's Women's History Month Celebration
