Nectar Eastside Freeform Dance

Nectar Eastside Freeform Dance is a once per month dance. Join us as you are, comfortable clothes for ease with movement and bare feet preferred.

Saturday Evenings 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Opening circle begins at 7:30pm, please arrive between 7:15pm and 7:30pm to get settled prior to opening circle.

Located above The Grange Restaurant. Go through the white picket fence on Main Street and follow signs to the stairs at the back of the building.

Each dance begins with creating safe sacred space with an optional opening circle and a tune in to the astrology of the Moon above. The Nectar DJ for the night will share about the Theme of the dance. Dance Guardians will introduce themselves.

Each dance is completed with an optional closing circle as we give thanks for all that was experienced individually and in the collective of all who danced together. The circle is open to shares and comments from anyone who wishes to express themselves. After all shares are complete there will be an opportunity for announcements of other community events.

While the music is playing we respectfully ask for non-verbal communication while on the dancefloor and conversations to be held out in the entrance hall.

All life emerges from vibration, be it sound or light... From each unique vibration arises the diversity of LIFE. Through dance we create vibration within and collectively, stimulating Amrit (Nectar), or the sweet juice of creation and realization. Nectar Freeform Dance unleashes stuck, stagnant energy connected to old stories that may or may not be serving the highest good. As these stories release, the vibration and/or Nectar for creation of a more LIFE affirming physical expression in body/mind/spirit is revealed. Nectar is created as new awareness is cultivated through conscious observance of all that arises within the dance.

• We honor all forms as self expression as long as you are doing no harm to yourself, others or the dance space. Allowing all participants to express themselves fully and freely in a safe and consent positive environment is our highest priority.
• Always check in with someone if you wish to dance with them, either verbally or nonverbally, and respect their answer. A bow, turning away or an answer of “no thank you” or “maybe later” or “I’m not sure” are all valid answers that should end your attempts to dance with that person.
• Always check in with other dancers before initiating contact. Use words or gestures to find out if contact is desired and feel free to use words if there are any limits or boundaries that need to be communicated.
• Don’t try and initiate a dance with anyone who has their eyes closed.
• Always approach from the front.
• A dance can be ended by anyone at any time. A dance may only last for a moment.
• Don’t assume that someone wants to dance with you in a certain way just because they may have danced with you in that way in the past.

If gestures or words are not working and you feel you need support in resolving an issue with another dancer, feel free to ask for help from the dance hosts, DJ, dance guardians or your fellow dancers.

Dances are currently capped at 17 participants. You must preregister to hold your spot. Sliding scale payment of $15-$20 needs to be made in advance to hold your spot. We will update the Facebook event page if the dance fills to capacity.
