Napa Open Space District

Napa Open Space District is dedicated to preserving, restoring, educating about and providing access to Napa County’s water, wildlife, open spaces and historical resources.

Napa Open Space District, since its formation by the voters in 2006, has preserved more than 5,000 acres of open space in Napa County, and manages public enjoyment of another nearly 3,000 acres of open space on behalf of other agencies.

Napa Open Space District  has no dedicated tax funding, but relies entirely on grants, donations, volunteer support and program income.

The County of Napa has each year since 2006 granted Napa Open Space District a portion of the County’s Transient Occupancy Tax; Napa Open Space District has matched this local grant with other funds at a ratio over just over three to one.

Since 2006 Napa Open Space District has organized over $1.7 million in volunteer services.

The Napa Open Space District Outdoor Education provides a wide range of programs to educate and introduce the community to our parks. Programs include enviromental education field trips, interpretive hikes for adults, junior ranger programs, themed hikes, community events, summer camps and so much more!
