Let's Talk Ottawa
Division. Hurt. Threat. Polarization. Hate. We hear so much about these in the media and that has many of us wondering: what do we need to build resilient communities, and a common future, with those who hold very different values, morals or ways of life?
.
We don’t have all the answers but that won’t stop us from starting the work right here at home, and so we’re very excited to announce a summer project exploring dialogue and bridge building within polarized communities: Let’s Talk Ottawa.
.
Let’s Talk Ottawa is a series of four events organized by members of Initiatives of Change Canada, Mahatma Gandhi - Next Generation Leaders and Dome Workshops. We will meet once every two weeks for discussions, workshops and interactive activities aimed at empowering participants to a) encounter dialogue as a response to diversity, b) connect with their inner vision of harmony and c) learn some of the tools needed to hold space for complicated and necessary conversations within their own communities.
.
The four sessions will focus on different aspects of the process.
